How to setup and use Siri on the iPad
Siri - Your personal assistant
Siri, the intelligent assistant
In order to use Siri, you need to be connected to the internet - you need to be online.
Why? Because Siri is not really on your iPad - she is "phoning home" to Apple's servers which process your question in order to interpret it and find you an answer.
To use Siri
To use Siri, hold down the Home button until you hear two beeps and a message pops up on screen asking," What can I help you with?"

How to setup
Configure Siri - Settings, General, Siri.
Turn Siri ON
Select the language for Siri
Siri will address you personally by name so it is important that your information is accurate and up to date in the Contacts app.
If you tell Siri to call or contact someone, then that person also needs to be in the Contacts App.
Even if you use a passcode, anyone can still hold down the Home button to access Siri and send a message etc. To plug this security gap, go to: Settings, General, Passcode lock. Turn passcode lock on, set a code, then set the Siri switch to OFF.
