How to sign in and out of different iTunes accounts
Why have multiple iTunes accounts?
You can have multiple iTunes accounts and sign in and out of them on the iPad. Why would you need multiple accounts? You could have an iTunes UK account where you can purchase and download apps which are not available in the Australian iTunes store. For example, download the ITV Player app so you can watch British TV on demand via your VPN connection. See Watch region-blocked TV. iTunes & App Store in Settings on the iPad
To make any changes to your iTunes accounts, go to Settings, iTunes & App Stores. Tap your Apple ID.
Sign out of your current iTunes account
Sign in to a different iTunes account
If you sign out, you will not be able to purchase or download any apps or media or access any purchased media. You must have an iTunes / Apple account for the iPad to function effectively and be signed in.
1. Once you sign out, you can sign into a different iTunes account. For example, sign out of the Australian store and sign into the UK iTunes store. Enter your Apple ID and password and tap Sign In.
3. You can also create a new Apple ID here.
Switching to a different iTunes account
When you switch to a different country's iTunes store, you get this message. When you tap OK, any apps or media you see in the iTunes and App Stores will come from that country's store. For example, switching to the UK iTunes store will allow me to find and download any free apps from the UK. Purchasing apps is more problematic as I would need credit and my Australian credit card will not be accepted. Apps downloaded from the UK store, US store, any other country will still work on my iPad even when I switch back to the Australian store.
Updating apps. Updating apps from a different country's iTunes store means I need to periodically switch back the UK store and update my apps. I can't update my UK apps when I am signed into my Australian account.
