How to Download Facebook Videos to your Computer

When you see a great video on Facebook, you could share it to your timeline so you can find it again and replay it. But how do you download the video to your computer so you can keep it?

There are a number of methods to do this which you'll see if you do a Google search but I have one method that works easily as long as you use the Chrome browser. It involves adding the Facebook Video Downloader extension to Chrome. Click the link below to locate the extension. and then click  the button Add to Chrome.

An icon will be added to your Chrome toolbar (top right). It is waiting for a video to download. You need to play the video in Facebook FIRST and then click the extension's icon. IfChrome can't locate a video, the download buttons will be greyed out. Open Facebook in another Tab and start the video playing. Now click the extension in your toolbar.

No video is playing which is why you can't download anything.

The video will be downloaded and playable in a Chrome Tab. Right click on the video and click Save video As  to save the video to your computer. Now you need to rename the video. It currently has a string of characters which is the identity of the video given to it by Facebook. Rename the video, select a storage location and then click Save.
